del mar sunday

i officially don't miss having 4 seasons lately. i officially love having one very beautiful weekend of perfect weather this weekend. 74 degrees. sunny. clear sky. light breeze. perfection. we headed to del mar beach yesterday to enjoy the sunshine and get some of that fresh ocean air goodness. laid back and wonderful is the only way to describe it - a little jaunt along the coast, seeing the sights and watching the waves crash. we stood on the beach for awhile and petey watched with awe and wonder as the waves came in.  we've been having a swell so the waves were bigger than we normally see out here. he just stared and pointed and stared.  the occasional airplane flew overhead for him to point out and then back to the wave watching. we enjoyed a little lunch at a cafe and finished off the trip at a little playground before heading home for naptime. one of my goals for 2010 - go to the beach more. every time its just good, simple perfection. wishing you sunshine and ocean breezes - and if you don't have any, book your ticket now for a visit!
