mr & mrs "bojo"

my sweet friend alison married her darling kevin this weekend in reno and i was lucky enough to attend the celebration! (her married name is not "bojo", we were being silly and combining her maiden name and married name over the weekend). i was thrilled to be able to spend some time with alison and her family and meet all her friends she's collected up along the years and celebrate their big day.  while i was sad my best half was unable to join me, it was a unique situation that all the ladies coming into town for the wedding came "solo" so it turned into a really enjoyable ladies weekend celebration, and i very much enjoyed making some new friends with alie's favorites!  it was a wonderful weekend away from "normal life" and  much needed breath of fresh air for the momma in me. the plane ride felt like pampering at a fancy spa - i got to lay back with my feet up in a mostly quiet space and some nice lady brought me a drink. being a mom of littles certainly redefines "luxury" and i ate it up all weekend.  the groom's parents hosted an incredible bbq at their home in fallon on friday. the ladies had a little "night in" together to catch up and relax and celebrate the big event girl style with some fun games and chit chat. saturday morning the ladies shared breakfast, walked by the river in reno (off the strip is waaaay more my style!), then some of the gals went on some "secret errands" for our decorating of the honeymoon suite project later while i went with alison to get her hair done. then we all ran back to the hotel, got all dressed up and drove out to the beautiful wolf run golf club for the wedding on the green. it was a beautiful but blustery event, so we were all literally holding onto our skirts and strategically facing into the wind whichever direction least disturbed our hair which was essentially a lost cause. the bride, however, of course managed to look effortlessly stunning the entire evening and the ceremony was beautiful!  we headed inside for a lovely celebration and shared meal and toasting by family and friends. and then they revealed the "secret event" of the evening - we all went cosmic bowling together! what a wonderful way to go out and play together!  we all had a blast!  sunday many of us made the quick drive up the mountain to lake tahoe for lunch and a little sight seeing, a place i'll definitely be visiting again in my future. it was just beautiful. congratulations alison and kevin!

my darling friend is about to have a baby girl any day minute now! we are all dying to meet the little lady, but last night we had a celebration for her and her wonderful momma. it was hosted in la jolla at a cupcake lounge called cups (i've scored a cupcake there during a shopping day with my awesome SIL).  what a totally awesome venue their back room made (they also host cooking classes, trunk shows, whatever you can think of, really). my co-hostesses did a great job of making it a special event for all. we went with the 'lil cupcake theme since it was at a cupcake joint and was already partially decorated that way - my sweet friend shannon outdid herself creating the most precious diaper cupcakes (instead of the traditional diaper cake you may have seen at a baby shower in the past). man oh man, they were darling. and the candies she made as the party favors were divine - as were the cupcakes served by the venue. awe-some.  i got some shots of the decor but switched to using the momma-to-be's camera for the rest of the event so i don't have a single photo of the guest of honor! sorry girl-

we had a lovely evening watching an outdoor concert together last night. but after two nights of fun, i'm exhausted and ready to stay home with my babies and play. thanks girls for keeping the calendar full of fun events. helps the countdown pass more quickly to be sure - and its great to make great memories with you all.

for the second year in a row, our boys have been "out of town" for air show weekend. and friday night of air show weekend, all the pilots and friends/family gather at the officers' club for a big celebration. its always a fun time to run into old friends and make new ones.  always have a great time with my red devil gals.

shannon's baby shower

so excited how many new babies are joining our red devil family in the VERY near future!!!  can't wait to meet all these tiny miracles. today we celebrated shannon's little blessing, sophie - we can't wait to meet her!  and my friend allyson (top left) is waiting to meet her little lady ANY day now! my friend janice is waiting for her mr. man to arrive in october.  my darling friend stephanie is excited to meet her little man in december.  and miss jen gets to meet her precious bundle in january.  SO GOOD!

mom and i enjoyed a dinner out for two last night so we could actually spend a couple hours enjoyed the company of one another without running around changing diapers, entertaining, intervening, feeding, etc....and just sit back, relax and enjoy a perfect evening in the gardens at stone brewing company. its one of my most favorite restaurants in san diego and it was the epitome of a relaxing evening out last night. thanks mom for a lovely shared evening, i wish we could do it more often.

we ladies enjoyed a much needed night out together to celebrate the fact that we've made it halfway! hello homecoming, right around the corner. i hope the second half goes by as quickly as the first half has. am so thankful for these amazing ladies. you'll have to share this link with the guys so they can see their girlies, hon!
