hiking with friends is the best - pete had a ball (except for a rough time with motivation heading back to the car that was remedied by holding my friend's dog's leash. phew!) with his buddies, kicking dirt, spying lizards and spiders, snacking on (and dropping in the dirt a few times) goodies their mommas brought. its always a pleasure for me to have adult company, particularly when its a friend i so adore and enjoy time spent together. we've decided to coordinate babysitters and head back soon together to summit. for two mommas who love the outdoors, its a little bit of torture to only make it 20 minutes up the trailhead. can't wait til a few years pass and we can take our whole clan to the top!
