annapolis is lovely. driving tour of the naval academy today. lunch downtown.
our teeny boys are wonderful and the most darling things together. we've borrowed a double stroller and my goodness are they cute, sitting there side-by-side.
tonight friends from university of illinois who are navy gals working at the academy are coming by to say hello. hip hip for been-too-long reunions this week!

we're on vacation in annapolis with our best pals til thursday. petey did great on the plane ride, all 5 hours of it. have a great week!

such a fun day today! after swim class, our friend jen hosted a bunch of mom's and their wee ones for lunch and an afternoon of playing. what a great time (and yummy food....nothing bundt cake is amazing) watching our little ones, all one year or less, play around together. petey napped and then we overstayed our welcome (sorry jen, you were a lovely hostess for not kicking us out) and chatted until dinnertime. even got to do a tiny bit of much needed catch-up on the phone with my love, alie. now tonight its down to business getting packed! tomorrow daddy only has to work a teensy bit and then we'll play in the afternoon. and tomorrow night, for our four year anniversary we're going to Jake's Del Mar. so excited. yeah date night!!!

i just have to say how excited i am, 2 nights ago i spilled water all over the desk and our mouse was malfunctioning due to partial drowning, but as of tonight it is working just perfectly. whew. reid wants to put up a sign in the kitchen that reads "___ days since last sarah incident". :)

here's ryan opening his -late- birthday gift from us. he was quite impressed with the box. hope he enjoys the shopping cart inside as much as he did the packaging!

in case you were wondering-

baby formula containers covered in pretty paper make the most adorable vases for a bunch of happy flowers purchased at the farmers market. just so you know. and i'm sure you'll sleep better knowing this. :) i'll sleep better when reid is home from work. its a late one, that guy sure does work hard! we're proud of him!

learning to pinch

petey is starting to figure out how to pick up cheerios with a bit of coordination and get them into his mouth. at one point today, we were both clapping each time he did it and then he'd chomp on them with his gums. what a big, proud grin he'd get on his face each time he got a cheerio in there. he's chewing on a veggie straw, they're kind of puppy so they disintegrate in his happy little mouth after the initial crunch. he also chewed on some frozen toaster waffles today as suggested by shannon and boy did he LOVE that.we're gearing up for our anniversary celebration thursday and our trip to annapolis, friday. wishing reid could join us - shannon and i are so similar as are our husbands. maybe next year we can do one of those fun family vacations together when our boys are big enough to chase each other around. oh - even our dogs are in love, maggie is baxter's one true love. we're hoping the babies love our plan for them to be best friends forever. :)

we went on a date

Saturday night our friend molly watched petey so we could go play downtown. so fun - and we're planning a second outing this thursday for our 4 year anniversary. this weekend we also had some fun at the dog park and had some illinois and navy friends over to say farewell to kayla - she's moving to japan for 2 years this tuesday. talk about a big adventure.
our big adventure-petey and i are going to annapolis, md this thurday to visit our friends shannon, greg, tommy and their dog maggie for a week! can't wait!
